When I visit a diner, I immediately consider its standards, just as I do with any restaurant. However, each type of eatery has its unique criteria. I would never judge an Italian restaurant in the same way I would assess a good old-fashioned diner! When it comes to diners, I have a clear favorite: Lesters Diner. There are only five locations here in South Florida, and Lesters has been family-owned for over 47 years, consistently proving its worth to loyal customers like me and many of my longtime friends.
There are a few key aspects that I always evaluate: the service, the ambiance (including the décor), and of course, the food and menu. The three items I focus on most are the country-fried steaks, the burgers, the milkshakes, the tuna melts, and the pancakes. Based on my personal experiences, Lesters Diner scores five stars for all five dishes, and I have complete confidence in the rest of the menu as well. The original location on 84th Street in Fort Lauderdale is open 24/7, and all five locations feature a bakery area and that legendary 14-ounce cup of delicious American coffee.
Please stop by one of their locations soon for a Saturday brunch or to eat after church. Your taste buds and stomach will thank you, and of course, Lester's Diner does not disappoint!
